Pics from "the Con"

With "the Con"over a few pictures surfaced, thanks to my brother and Phil's fabulous camera phone. It was definitely the wrong time for our batteries to die on us.

Here on preview nite, Hunter is all smiles half way through the six hour wait.

Until she saw, Padame... "Slave Leia" and Mara Jade.... then she was overjoyed and talked about it all day....


Of course as we were leaving, she saw Obi Wan, Han Solo and a different Mara Jade and was SOOO excited to have her picture taken and pose with Mara Jade's blaster...for her it was the day dreams were made of..... I love that girl!

Jade's Dance Recital

Jade's dance recital was today, and I have to say, I couldn't be any prouder... she was amazing, if I do say so myself. She danced splendidly with her new "cousin" she swears they are related, her friend is so sweet I'm more than happy to call her family.

Preview Night

So, did I mention that we take our conventions seriously?
We went, stood in line, treked all over the Convention Center and then had the joyous privilege of sitting on the hard concrete floor of the third floor of the Convention Center for six hours... yes we put ourselves through it...however there was fun to be had! Dasan and Jess came to town so we all got to wait it out together! Now really, nothing screams family bonding more than 6 hrs of sitting on a concrete floor in a lane of about maybe 4 feet wide... all this to say, we sat for 6 hours to have 1 picture.... honestly we were so busy entertaining the children... that we forgot the idea of wacky photos, which would have proved more fun than reading about the experience. Which I'll have to elaborate on later... right now... I have to upload more pics...

Getting ready for ComiCon

Well, at some point it was bound to happen... for years we've been going to what we affectionately call "the Con" and we always threw around the idea of dressing up....however this year we couldn't manage to all get ourselves dressed as we desired so half of us dressed up.. that is the half of our family that anyone is really interested in seeing dress up.... hahaha
After much discussion, Jade determined that she wanted to dress up as Princess Leia
and upon further discussion we determined that Hunter was the perfect size to be Yodah.

However, now that I think on it, we should have perhaps dressed him up as what he seems to prefer ( he hums the Imperial March song when he holds a lightsaber) however, we don't really want to encourage the dark side.... when the Rebel Alliance is so much more fun!
Ah well, perhaps next year.

At the Fair

Jade performed at the Fair on July first and was AMAZING...it was her first time performing in front of a crowd and though there was only her and another girl from her class, they did an amazing job..... I'm SO proud!
