So here's the low down.. for those of you who choose not to read and are really only here for the pics... scroll down and dismiss this random babbling... It was early Monday morning and I woke up with pains, figured it would go away but when I realized these pains had me up every 3-7 minutes, I realized there could be more to this than just pain. I prayed to God, asking him for one more full night of sleep.... three minutes later I realized.. this wasn't going to happen. I went and woke up Phil, it had already been a long day for all of us, I came down with an awful cold about 3 days prior that was getting worse. Matter of fact my fever had just broken about an hour before the pain began. So, I woke up my poor husband, who only had about 30 minutes sleep and called my parents to have them come out so that my girl could sleep through the night without being woken up. The contractions were intense and so much stronger than I had remembered with Jade that I kind of just thought that maybe I was being a big baby about the whole contractions thing... seeing as they had just started up for about 30 minutes or so. My parents arrived, it was pouring rain outside and all I wanted was to get this baby out...NOW! Phil was happy and excited all he wanted to talk about was how exciting it would be that we would be seeing our new addition to the family soon and all I wanted was for him to drive faster, slow down over the bumps, not talk to me, hold my hand, don't touch my stomach, count when I'm having contractions, don't tell me I'm doing good... tell me it will be over soon, and beyond all else get me to the hospital! The poor guy... I don't know if he was expecting it to move that fast but he was wonderful. We finally arrived at the hospital an hour and a half after all this pain had begun, they admitted me and between my contractions they gave me the good news... I wasn't a baby! I was having a baby, certainly but I was in transition.... what do you know?! No wonder I never had that pain with Jade, they took us back for the emergency c section before I could even get to 3 and here I was at almost 8!!! So, I felt a tad better until it became clear that the on call Doctor didn't want to do my c section and was going to let me labor it out until my Dr came in... which she did... a half an hour early.. however that meant that even with the epidural they gave me to "slow down" my progress (which it didn't) I had 3 hours to go..
Finally they took me back did the procedure and out came the most adorable little man I've ever laid my eyes on. On Febuary 19th at 7:21 in the morning we were the proudest parents of the cutest guy around. A whole 20 and 3/4 inches weighing in at 8lbs and 13 oz!!!! I never thought it would have been possible for me to have an 8pound baby...let alone one who was so close to being 9 pounds~ but boy are my back and hips thankful to not have to carry him anymore. haha
Now 11 days old he's already grown almost 2 inches and is well over 9 pounds!
